NORDIC FILM RELAY

Nordic Film Relay is a cross media, cross border film project that involves 75 young people from 5 Nordic countries in a unique film relay.

In the course of two weeks from Friday September 9. - Saturday September 24. The film relay will run through Iceland, Norway, Finland Sweden to rap up in Denmark during the Nordisk Panorama Film festival in Aarhus. The outcome will be 5 short films - each short film made by young people from the 5 Nordic countries.

All film is shoot on mobile phones and the communication between the young participants takes place via social media such as Twitter and Facebook. Social media also plays an important part in the plot of the films.

This is how it takes place…

15 young people from each country participates. They are from the cities Aarhus, Reykjavik, Bergen, Oulu and Malmö - the five partner cities in Nordisk Panorama.

The 15 young people from each country are divided into 5 groups  Group 1, group 2 etc. Groups numbered 1 in each country work together and so forth.

On Friday September 9. The 5 groups in Denmark will send each group the collaborate with in Iceland a Twitter-message. The Twitter-message can contain all from at title, a suggestion to an opening scene or a plot line. A bit of help, a guideline - or maybe a specific dogma.

Then the 5 groups on Iceland will now have 72 hours to complete their film assignment. Rules are, that films must be shoot on a mobile phone, it cannot be longer then 2 min. And must of course relate to the Twitter-message send by the Danish teams. When the Icelandic groups rap up their work, they have to pass on their films with a new Twitter-message.

The films will continue like that to Norway, Finland, Sweden and finally end up in Denmark, where the films will have an end and premiere on September 24 in the cinema Øst for Paradis in Aarhus 19.00.
